Is the FleetGS driver app free for drivers?
Yes. The driver app is free to download and use on iOS and Android. There are no per-driver charges. All drivers on your account have access to the app as part of your fleet plan.
Does the app work offline or in areas with poor signal?
The FleetGS driver app is designed for real working conditions, including rural sites and buildings with poor reception. The app caches data locally when offline — walkaround checks, job updates, and location data are stored on-device and synced to the platform automatically when connectivity returns.
Can drivers use the app without being tracked outside working hours?
Yes. Location tracking in the app is tied to the driver's work session — it activates when they clock in and stops when they clock out. Outside of working hours, no location data is collected. This is important for GDPR compliance and is clearly communicated to drivers during onboarding.
Does the driver app support vehicle walkaround checks?
Yes. Drivers complete their pre-shift walkaround check (DVIR) in the app before starting work. The checklist is configurable by vehicle type. Any defect flagged triggers an immediate notification to the fleet manager and starts the defect workflow — the vehicle can be held until the issue is resolved.
Which navigation apps does the FleetGS driver app support?
When a driver taps a job address in the FleetGS app, they can choose to open it in Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze. The app passes the full address and lets the driver use whichever navigation app they prefer — no lock-in.
